To be a catalyst for evolution and growth in the training and support of career musicians.
The Elision Institute addresses three broad areas of concern in the education, development, and support of professional musicians
- Discovering, developing and maximizing the unique talents, temperament, and personality of each individual musician in harmony with her/his interests and passions in the search for authentic vocation.
- Working with the distinct requirements, expectations, and cultures in educational and professional organizations to promote awareness and positive evolution in the training, support, and employment of musicians.
- Addressing the connections and transitions of individuals between these institutions and the larger community.
Purpose
- Supporting musicians throughout their careers to discover the most appropriate career paths and opportunities that can lead to challenging, fulfilling and meaningful life workauthentic vocation.
- Encouraging dialogue and implementing appropriate change in the training of future professional musicians relative to significant and continuous evolution of the field.
- Promoting wellness, preventing injury, and managing stress in musiciansphysical, psychological, social, and environmental.
- Connecting the academic world with the arts community, all learning from each other, providing and sharing resources for the benefit of all and preparing graduates for significant community work and service.
